Max Wrestling produces special episodes every 3-4 months in line with big Pay-Per-Views. At these events, Max Wrestling championships are defended with promo battles and trivia battles. The specials originated in 2015 with the Podcast Promo Takeover series where everyone on the show cut a promo, before a schedule of events began in 2016. Each event comes with its own pre-show usually two days before, known as the Pre-Launch Show. The Maxies Awards became its own event in 2020 outside of the regular calendar of events.
