Trivia Takeover: Lucky Number 7 (2022)

Trivia Takeover: Lucky Number 7 was the upcoming thirty-eighth Max Wrestling Podcast special, and seventh under the Trivia Takeover chronology. It was hosted by "The Captain" Dazzy Dangerously and Moses Marquez plus special guests including Chad Malcolm, The Phoenix, Travis Anderson

and the return of The Demoness with a cameo appearance by Robert Davis.

Traditionally, the "Champion's Chase" takes place at Trivia Takeover, which begins on the Pre-Launch Show and concludes on the main show. So far, the Knowledge Champion has never retained in the Champion's Chase.
PRODUCTION
The event will be recorded and produced by Dazzy Dangerously.
background
Unlike all previous six Trivia Takeover events, which took place in June, this is the first in the line-up to take place in May - in order to coincide with AEW's Double Or Nothing - which will determine the Predictions Championship. This is the first Max Wrestling special event to coincide with an AEW pay-per-view. Trivia Takeover will return to June in 2023 when a new event is created for May.

The event will be headlined by the third annual "Champion's Chase" match will take place for the Knowledge Championship, held by The Phoenix. Chad Malcolm will also defend the Television Championship against Moses Marquez after Marquez won the mini Ring Of Games at PromoMania VII.

On April 14th, The Shape made his first appearance since splitting from The Captain and announced that he had arranged for a mystery opponent to face Moses Marquez in a promo exhibition to make up for nobody answering Marquez's challenge at PromoMania.

After defeating Phoenix for the World Championship at PromoMania VII, The Captain appeared to turn heel and established his own faction the following week named "The Jury", consisting of Chad Malcolm and Cypher. The Captain was also vague about defending the World Championship at Trivia Takeover, however announced on April 14th that the Knowledge Champion at the end of the Champion's Chase would have the opportunity to cash-in their title and take on the first ever "Jester's Justice" for the World Championship.

On May 5th, Malcolm raised the stakes in his title defence against Marquez. After weeks of The Captain trying to recruit Marquez, Malcolm added the stipulation that Marquez would have to join The Jury if he does not win the Television Championship.

event

On the Pre-Launch Show, The Phoenix eliminated Chad Malcolm and came within one space of Travis Anderson before the show came to an end - leaving the Champion's Chase on a cliffhanger.

On the main show, The Captain revealed he had made a mistake with Phoenix's answers, so he was actually one space behind Chad Malcolm and had not eliminated him. As the Champion's Chase continued, Anderson advanced home while Malcolm and Moses Marquez were both eliminated.

After the first rounds of the Champion's Chase ended, Chad Malcolm defended his Television Championship against Moses Marquez. The Quickfire battle ended in a 3-3 draw, which meant Malcolm retained the title due to champion's advantage.

In the Final Dash of the Champion's Chase, Travis Anderson won the Knowledge Championship for the first time in his 3-year run, defeating Phoenix decisively in a 7-4 victory. Anderson then declined to drop the Knowledge Championship in exchange for a World Title shot by facing "Jester's Justice", knowing he already has a shot at PromoSlam.

The Captain then offered "Jester's Justice" to anyone else for a future shot a Knowledge Championship match at PromoSlam. Initially, Chad Malcolm volunteered, but was also followed by Phoenix. As a result, Anderson changed the conditions by allowing both to compete, offering Phoenix a free chance to win himself a rematch. Malcolm, however, had to cash-in his Television Championship for a straight Knowledge Title shot. Both accepted, Phoenix survived the first board, but Malcolm was caught by the lies, losing his TV Title to Anderson.

In the main event, Moses Marquez' mystery opponent was revealed to be nonother than The Demoness, who had not been seen for almost a year. At the end of the promo exhibition, Marquez seemed partially incapacitated as his hand appeared to sign a document.
